Detective stories are very popular in American movies. James Bond is probably the most famous crime-solving movie character. This character has been in 22 movies, from 1962 until now. The next James Bond movie will come to theatres in 2011.
When I was a little girl (a long time ago!), the most popular detective movie was The Pink Panther. The Pink Panther movies were comedies, about a clumsy French detective, Inspector Clouseau (played by British actor Peter Sellers).
Charlie's Angels was a detective show famous for its sexy female detectives (played by Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, and Farrah Fawcett). This show was on TV in the 1970s.
In the 1990s, Canadian comedian Mike Myers created the character Austin Powers - a time-traveling British "ladies' man" who always tried to stop Dr. Evil (who was also played by Mike Myers). These movies are called "spoofs" because they make fun of the James Bond movies of the 1960s.
CSI is probably the most popular detective TV show nowadays. The show CSI is actually many different series that take place in different American cities and have different characters. The theme songs ("OST") for these shows all comes from British rock band "The Who" - most of these theme songs are older songs that were famous in the 1970s.

ReplyDeleteat Korean detective movies. Korean-style detective movies are more familiar than western-style detective movies. My favorite movie is memento from America. Guy Edwary Pearce is minute and particular in this moive.
I love a detective movies very much. Recently I watch a movie named Angels & Demons. There are many twists to the plot. Korean detective movies are still small scale than western style detective movies. But Korean movies are go on growing.

My favorite Korean detective movie is "Memories Of Murder". This movie was adapted a real story. The crime is the consecutive murder incidents.

And two polices make effort to solve the crime.
Two polices find out suspected person. But they didn't solve the crime.
I only saw Korean detective movie "Memories Of Murder". So, more remain my memory.
Sometimes I watch detective movie. But I don't love detective movie. I just watch... My favorite Korean detective movie is Remembrance of Murder. The story was real story. And the story is mysterios until now.

I rarely saw detective movies. Among the movies which I saw the most memoriable movie is Chukyuckja(추격자). The movie is based on a true story. And the story about psychopath. this movie was mystery plus horror!!!!! A hero of the Chukyuckja is Ha jung-woo. He is good at acting. He really looks like psychopath. Anything else all of this movie is very fun.

ReplyDeleteAnyway, My favorite Korean detective movie is 'return'. This movie treats a symptom that can occur in surgeon process. In movie, Main Actor is 'Kim Myeong-Min' and other actors entry often on story. All actors in movie are good at acting, so you can enjoy their's acting. But the story is little meager. Thus if you appreciate this movie, just enjoy their acting, nor story.
I think, Korean detective movies are tend to mimic Western detective move. Korea's movie industry should more endeavor, or can't avoid shrewd comments.

This movie is horrible and cruel.

It seems realitic. and Story is never boring. I watched the movie in breatheness suspence.
As this reason, I think this movie is good Korea detective movie.
