Unit 6: Predicting your Future

We learned about palm-reading in class this week. I thought it was interesting to see how everyone's hands are so different. Now, I want you to take what you discovered and try using the future expressions we learned in class. Tell me about what kinds of things you saw about your past, present, and future on your palm. Here is a copy of the hand-out if you lost yours.



What are some other methods people use to predict their future?


Runes were stones used by ancient western European groups to predict the future. The symbols on the stones represent the ancient Runic alphabet, which was an alphabet used in places that are now England, France, and Scandinavia. Some people interested in Anglo-Saxon and Nordic traditional culture still use them today - mostly for fun.


Tarot cards can be traced back to 14th century Italy. Many think they originated in Egypt or the Middle East. The each card has different symbols on it to represent life, love, change, and death. Many people still enjoy having tarot card readings for fun.

Although most people don't believe that stones, cards, palms, or cards can predict your destiny, many people still think it's fun to read and learn about what might happen in their futures. What do you think?

Remember to practice definite/indefinite time expressions (page 61) and simple future tenses (page 64). Have fun!

    Of course, I interesting about my future. I am going to go to Tarot card cafe. When I look at lines of palm, I will get married three time. Also, The Life Line of palm is very curved. This is mean strength, enthusiam, strong love life.

    I like palm-reading. When I look at my financial loss life line is very long and curved. So I will live long. Also, I will strong love. And the line if fate has extended to long(middle) fingure and that means it is high persent to success.

    People wonder their future life. SO, People makes many kinds of method for predict their future. Especially, palm-reading is very common method. My life line is curved and deep. It means strength,enthusiasm, strong love life. And My heart line is curved upward. It means plesant, romantic, and warm. I will strength romantic love.

    When I listened your class last wednesday, my palm said 'I can't marry through all my life.'
    I shocked, but I don't care since you said 'it's just for fun', Becka.
    I usually believe some result about Tarot and palms. Because these are representing my matters - great and small. (Honestly, I'm too easily influenced by these's result.)
    Anyway, those games are very interesting to me. That's why I play these usually.

    I don't believe a palm reading. but sometime look for fun.
    My palm reading life line is very curved. It's mean strength, enthusiasm and strong love life.
    head line is straight and touching life line. straight mean is realistic nature and touching life line mean is cautious childhood. fanally, heart line is long and straight. mean is respectful and seeks people of high status.

    I wonder my future. and I like to predicting my future. but I don't belive palm, tarot card etc...
    because, I think this is just fun!
    I will get good result. but sometimes I get bad result.
    I hope have only good things in my future.
    and I think future is make myself.
    SO, I don't belive any divination.

    When I look at my financial loss life line is very long.
    So I will live long.
    The brain line is as long as the life line.
    If it is long I have excellent intelligent.
    And the line if fate has extended to long fingure
    and that means it is high persent to success.
    It is hard to find the financial loss like mine.
    When I look at my financial loss
    it has lots of good things
    but effort is more important than the financial loss.

    People are wondering about their future.
    So they find ways to see the future.
    tarot cards and palm reading are common method.
    I am interested in tarot and palm reading.
    So, I wonder future very much.
    My heart line in curved upward.
    It's mean is pleasant, romantic, and warm.
    In the future, I will have romantic event for girlfriend.

    I like to see a tarot card and apalm reading.
    I don't believe that all, but It's funny.
    In my palm, I will get married twice. but I don't want to marry twice. and on my heart line, there are many stars and circles.(I think....) so, in my future, I have many problems, happy event and acheivement. I expect that..

    I was more belive tarot card than palm reading.
    So I sometimes go tarot cafe.
    my palm reading says I will live long and
    I will get marrid twice.
    And headline says I am creative.
    but I think I don`t creative.
    I don`t belive that.
    therefore palm reading is just for funny.

    Palm reading is not real. But it knows well easy. So, palm reading is fun.
    I do palm reading in the class. My life line is very curved. It means strength, enthusiasm, strong love life. And head line is deep. It means logical, good memory. But I have not good memory. It's interenting.
